PRATT & WHITNEY is to buy the Nordam Group's Propulsion Systems division, which repairs cases, frames and components for gas-turbine engines and auxiliary power units. The terms of the deal, which is expected to be complete by the end of the first quarter, have not been disclosed.
Located in Springdale, Arkansas, the division employs some 180 people and has annual sales of around $20 million. It will become part of P&W's Overhaul and Repair Operations unit. The engine manufacturer says that it plans to the keep the division's management and workforce in place.
