Aerospace is poised for a “paradigm shift” in technology as 3D printing empowers engineers to “challenge the status quo” and create radical new designs.
Pierre Marchadier, aerospace and defence VP at Dassault Systèmes, says the message to engineers is: “Be creative. There are no limitations to your dreams.”
Speaking exclusively to Flight Daily News, Marchadier sees the Boeing 787 and Airbus A350 as the pinnacles of the current era but with 3D printing, coming decades will see designers go from “turning parts into aeroplanes, to turing atoms into aeroplanes”.
