Daher-Socata has unveiled a new multi-mission version of its TBM 700B single-engined turboprop optimised for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) duties.
On static display, the company-owned technology demonstrator has been equipped with a retractable Agile 2 stabilised multi-sensor turret in its rear fuselage. Supplied by Thales, this can incorporate electro-optical/infrared sensors, a laser rangefinder and a laser designator for targeting purposes.

An on-board operator station weighing 131kg (290lb) offers automatic signal processing and a digital recording function. The ISR installation - which is also being offered for possible integration with Daher-Socata's TBM 850 design - can be removed within 30min to allow the aircraft to perform passenger transport tasks.
"Our TBM multi-mission aircraft offers a highly affordable airborne reconnaissance, surveillance and intelligence platform for both security and governmental operators," says Nicolas Chabbert, senior vice-president of Daher-Socata's airplane division.
The company delivered its 500th TBM 700 earlier this year, and the type has now logged more than 750,000 flight hours. The French air force and French army are among current operators of the type, with combined fleets of 28 TBM 700A/Bs, according to Flight's MiliCAS database.
