France has placed a new order with Thales Optronique to produce a further 10 Damocles targeting pods for delivery from 2011. The systems will equip its Dassault Mirage 2000, Rafale and Super Etendard Modernise strike aircraft, and are being purchased under an urgent requirement announced during the show by France's DGA defence procurement agency. A total of 35 Damocles systems have now been ordered for the nation's air force and navy.
