Safran Group subsidiary Messier Services has secured new business from Southwest Airlines after the low-cost carrier picked the company as one of two landing gear support suppliers for its fleet of 328 Boeing Next Generation 737s.
Messier Services says the initial contract will last for three years, and includes options to renew. Work is scheduled to start immediately.
The latest agreement follows major landing-gear overhaul contracts awarded to Messier Services in April by Air Canada covering eight Airbus A330s, and by Chilean airline group LAN for gear overhaul on its A320s and A340s.
