EADS has sealed as collaboration deal with a new science and technology city in the Moscow suburb of Skolkovo.

The agreement was signed at the show by EADS technical chief Jean Botti and the Skolkovo Foundation's executive president Viktor Vekselberg.

It envisions a university, research institutions, business incubator, technology transfer and commercialisation office, corporate offices and research and development centres, along with residential space and social infrastructure.

EADS' presence in Skolkovo will take the form of an R&D centre and technology incubator to be operational from the second half of this year. Possible areas for collaboration are communication systems, advanced engines and energy handling. EADS will also attract students and

science bodies at the Skolkovo Institute of Technology to participate in research activity.
