Elbit Systems predicts growth in the upgrade market of fighter aircraft and combat helicopters. The Israeli company is presenting specific upgrade proposals to potential customers at the show. It believes that as there are not many new fixed-wing and rotary combat platforms, the need to extend the life of the existing ones is becoming essential. "We anticipate larger contracts in the coming years as the need is growing on most of the air forces," said Yoram Shmely, joint general manager of Elbit Systems aerospace division.
