Ethiopian Airlines is set to disclose orders for additional aircraft at the Paris air show, including 10 Airbus A350-900s and 10 Boeing 737 Max 8s.
The African carrier is also intending to acquire another five Bombardier Q400s.
Ethiopian chief executive Tewolde Gebremariam confirmed the order plans to FlightGlobal during the show.
The order for the A350s could come as early as 20 June.
Ethiopian already has direct orders for a dozen A350s and already operates several of the Rolls-Royce Trent-powered type.
Airbus has yet to confirm whether the 10 additional A350s for Ethiopian are the same 10 which had been assigned to an undisclosed customer towards the end of April.
The overall A350 order total, according to Airbus's latest backlog data, stands at 851 – including 632 of the -900 variant and 211 A350-1000s.
Airbus had delivered a total of 86 A350-900s by the end of May this year.
