GKN Aerospace Services (GKNAS) is aiming to secure Airbus Military A400M component contracts after winning parts orders for the Lockheed Martin F/A-22 Raptor and Lockheed Martin C-130J Hercules.

The Anglo-US components manufacturer expects to conclude a deal at the show to supply the A400M vertical tailplane with Airbus Deutschland, which it hopes will be the first of several contracts amounting to around $1.5 million for each aircraft. GKN is also working with Airbus in Germany and in the UK on bids for A400M composite wing spars and ribs.

GKNAS says the agreement to supply horizontal stabiliser skins for the F/A-22 takes the total value of the company's orders to $4.5 million per aircraft. GKNAS is also to sign an agreement to supply the engine nacelles for the C-130J on 40 US Air Force and US Marine Corps aircraft in a deal worth $74 million over five years.

Sister company GKN Aerospace Chemtronics has won a $180 million contract to supply the turbine exhaust casing for the General Electric/Pratt & Whitney GP7000 for the Airbus A380.
