US engineering specialist Your Aircraft Source is attempting to certificate a glass-cockpit version of the Morane-Saulnier MS760 Paris II light twin jet, aimed at owner-flyers.
Twenty of the four-seat jets are being restored by the Calhoun, Georgia-based company. Production of the MS760 ended in 1964 and the type was retired by the French armed forces in 1997. The aircraft is powered by two 1,060lb-thrust (4.7kN) Turbomeca Marboré VI C turbojets. Maximum speed is 375kt (695km/h) at its ceiling of 25,000ft (7,580m) and initial climb rate is 2,460ft/min(12.3m/s), making it ideal for the owner-flyer wanting a performance jet with low maintenance costs, says the company.
