At a signing ceremony yesterday afternoon, Ruag appointed Denmark-headquartered DAO Aviation as its first service centre for the Dornier 228 twin-engined turboprop.

Ruag says that with bases in Africa, North America and Europe, "DAO will provide owners and operators of 228 fleets with close support and increased access to reliable maintenance, repair and overhaul, spare parts and overall operation support".

This announcement comes hot on the heels of Ruag's appointment on Monday as an authorised service centre for the UK-based systems company Cobham.

Ruag will provide MRO as well as testing and inspection services for Cobham's on-board inert gas generating system units from its facility in Interlaken, Switzerland.

Ruag's new-generation Dornier 228 is on display in the static park.
