First-time exhibitor Abbey Metal Finishing (Amfin) is at Paris after a year that tested the company's resilience and ingenuity to the limit.
UK Midlands-based Amfin lost two-thirds of its business, 90% of which is in aerospace, in an unexplained fire in April 2010.
Following a multi-million-pound reinstatement and further investment by its parent company, Camellia, Amfin now has all-new plating and anodising lines, including TSA anodising as specified by Airbus for its new A350, plus painting and plasma coating services.
It has also introduced a large semi-automatic etch line, in response to demand, to conduct inspections before non-destructive testing.
General manager Mike Beirns said: "Our biggest area of growth in customers and volume is mainland Europe. Paris will be a platform to tell our customers old and new that we're back with new capacity and capabilities."
