Xiamen Airlines has chosen several Rockwell Collins avionics systems for 12 next-generation Boeing 737s scheduled to arrive from 2014.
The Chinese airline has chosen the manufacturer's head-up display guidance system (HGS), the MultiScan threat detection system, the GLU-925 multi-mode receiver and a Satcom system.

Seven airports in China permit aircraft to land with head-up displays. The MultiScan threat detection system is an automatic airborne weather radar system that uses data to analyse weather threats. The receiver will allow Xiamen Airlines to use required navigation performance/area navigation and automatic dependent surveillance - broadcast capabilities.
"Today's announcement marks the first selection of our HGS by Xiamen, which will bring immediate operational benefits and pilot situational awareness for increased safety," said Jeff Standerski, vice-president and general manager of air transport systems for Rockwell Collins. "We're honored to be working closely with Xiamen to implement this technology on their fleet."
