EADS Sogerma Services and SAS Component are expanding their Free2Fly spares and component supply services programme to serve Airbus operators worldwide.

Jean-Luc Monceaux, EADS Sogerma Services' senior vice-president for sales and marketing, says: ''Working together has created a powerful expansion of our services to the Airbus market, and we have already seen a significant acceptance of our partnership by airlines throughout Europe.''

The programme was launched 14 months ago. Twenty-three European-based carriers have selected it, to support a total of 150 Airbus A319s, A320s, A321s, A330s and A340s.

Now the service will also be available to Airbus operators in Asia, the Americas and the Middle East. The scope of Free2Fly's services is also being widened to include initial provisioning for maintenance operations and fly-away kits. EADS Sogerma Services and SAS Component are using existing logistics channels, spares pools and parts inventories.
