Turkish rescue crews have reportedly reached the wreckage of a Boeing MD-83 that crashed while on a domestic flight early this morning and reports say it appears all on board were killed.

Authorities told local media that all of the 49 passengers and seven crew on board are believed to have been killed in the early-morning crash of the aircraft, which was being operated for local carrier Atlasjet.

Based on preliminary information, the MD-83 crashed while on approach to the southern city of Isparta’s Suleyman Demirel Airport, which is surrounded by mountains.

The aircraft was on a domestic flight from Istanbul. It is thought it was being wet-leased by Atlasjet from World Focus Airlines and was registered as TC-AKM.

According to Flight’s ACAS database the aircraft was built in 1994. It had a manufacturer’s serial number of 53185.
