UK airport owner Regional Airports (RAL) plans to quintuple passenger throughput at London Biggin Hill Airport by 2000, following the opening of its new £500,000 ($850,000) terminal in November. Passenger numbers are expected to increase from 20,000 to 100,000 a year. RAL is holding discussions with several undisclosed airlines over possible short-haul scheduled and charter services at Biggin Hill. An announcement is expected soon.
