Despite the 21 April vote by the European Parliament to refer the draft advance passenger information (API) agreement with the USA to the European Court of Justice, the Commission says the arrangement will go ahead anyway. Unofficially dubbed the "light" API deal, the European Commission says the compromise agreement it has with the USA complies with European data protection requirements, and it is confident that the court will rule the deal legal.
