Dubai’s government is claiming that all passengers on an Emirates aircraft involved in an accident at Dubai have been safely evacuated.
While details of the aircraft involved have yet to be confirmed, images of the scene from Dubai show a Boeing 777 burning fiercely, listing to its starboard side, possibly indicating a gear collapse and engine damage.
Emirates has identified the flight involved as its EK521 service from Thiruvananthapuram, adding that the aircraft had 275 passengers and crew on board.
"We are extending full co-operation to authorities and emergency services managing the situation," it says.
"Our main priority now is the safety and well-being of all involved."
Dubai’s official media office states that “no injuries have been reported so far”.
“Concerned authorities at Dubai International airport are dealing with the incident at the moment to ensure safety of all,” it adds.
