Sagem's Patroller unmanned air vehicle surveillance system is to run a series of imaging trials in southern France, carrying a Sagem Euroflir gyrostabilised optronics pod remotely operated from a ground station via a real-time link, to test detection and location of fire starts and search and rescue team support.
The aircraft will be based at Cannes Mandelieu airport and operated from a ground station, but it will also carry a pilot to enable it to integrate with civil airspace. This is the first contract for Patroller, a 1t-class medium-altitude, long-endurance system based on a Stemme S-15.
