A British Airways veteran and former head of Air Astana, Lloyd Paxton, has taken the helm at recently privatised Hungarian flag carrier Malév. He replaces Dr János Gönci as chief executive. Gönci remains on the board of Malév, which earlier this year joined the oneworld alliance. Paxton previously spent 35 years at oneworld member BA.
Malév has turned to another eastern European carrier, LOT, to recruit a new chief financial officer, Piotr Ikanowicz. He had been with the Polish carrier since graduating in 1987.
