PDG Helicopters plans to expand its international on-shore operations following a £1.6 million ($2.6 million) investment from the Scottish Clydesdale Bank.

The Inverness, Scotland-based company specialises in utility pipeline patrol, forestry, aerial photography and fish farming - for which it also recently set-up "the first foreign base" in Chile, operating a Eurocopter AS350B1 Squirrel. A further B1 will also be added to the fleet in the next three months. The company, which owns a 15 helicopters, also plans to move into the ad hoc charter market, following its acquisition of Grampian Helicopters last year.
