Turkish carrier Pegasus Airlines has disclosed plans to lease an extra three Airbus A320neos in the first quarter of 2019.
In a statement to the Istanbul stock exchange, the airline says the jets will be dry-leased for 10-year terms "following production by Airbus". The identity of the lessor has not been disclosed.
Pegasus specifies that the three aircraft are additional to the fleet plan set out in its investor presentation for the fourth quarter of 2017.
That presentation indicated that the airline's A320neo fleet would, over the course of 2018, rise from 15 to 22 – all on finance lease. Flight Fleets Analyzer lists 17 A320neos in service with Pegasus.
Before the stock-exchange disclosure on 24 April, Pegasus had been due to take seven A320neos in 2019: one on finance lease, six on operating lease.
Another 28 of the jets are to arrive in the 2020-22 timeframe. Of these, four will be taken on finance lease and 24 on operating lease.
Pegasus – which operates 38 Boeing 737-800s and 12 A320s, in addition to the 17 A320neos – also has three 737-800s and 43 A321neos on order.
Seven of these A321neos are to be delivered next year, five in 2021, 11 in 2022, and 10 each in 2023 and 2024.
