Pratt & Whitney executive vice president (VP) Robert Leduc has been appointed chief operating officer (COO), responsible for day-to-day operations. He retains control of the company's large commercial engine business. Lloyd Newton joins P&W as VP international military programmes and business development. He recently retired from the US Air Force, where he was commander of the Air Education and Training Command. Stephen Smith has resigned as chief executive (CEO) of Canada's WestJet Airlines and will be replaced by founder Clive Beddoe. Beddoe served as CEO before, but became chairman when he appointed Smith last year. He cites a clash in management styles for Smith's departure. Boeing's Military Aircraft and Missile Systems says Al Haggerty, VP and general manager (GM) of engineering and head of Lean Enterprise activities, will retire on 1 April. He will be succeeded by former US Navy Vice Admiral and head of naval air operations, John Lockard. Shmuel Keren has been appointed president of Israel Military Industries, replacing Shlomo Milo, who has resigned after 5 years. Keren was previously head of R&D with the Israeli defence forces. Denver's Frontier Airlines has named Eugene Hall director planning and scheduling. He had served in the same position with American Eagle Airlines. Aviation General has appointed John deHavilland president and CEO of its subsidiary Strategic Jet Services, a pre-owned aircraft specialist. He most recently served as president of deHavilland Aircraft. Fred Agnew has been appointed president of US computer-based aviation training specialist Wicat Systems. Agnew replaces Mark Nelson, who becomes president of new aviation training portal Wicat.com. California-based space industry component supplier Pressure Systems has appointed Jim Wehri COO. He had been GM of Eaton's Sterer division.
