Thales has named Jacques Bourgeois director of operations in Saudi Arabia. He will also be chief executive Thales International Saudi Arabia, TCB and Stesa. All three companies aim to develop co-operation with Saudi Arabia in the defence and civil arenas. Aer Lingus has named John O'Donovan as acting CEO while it seeks a permanent replacement for Michael Foley, who recently left the company after allegations of sexual harassment. Air Baltic has appointed former SAS executive Jens Helmo Larsen as airline head after the departure of president and CEO Kristian Kirchheiner to be vice president of the Star Alliance management team. Geoffrey Hopkins is to be vice president/general manager of Jet Aviation Singapore. Hopkins has worked for Jet Aviation for five years as director of maintenance. Taiwan's EVA Air has appointed Ringo Chao to head the carrier's European region. He will be based in London. Jean-Pol Poncelet has been named director of strategy and external relations for the European Space Agency Council. Swedish regional Malmo Aviation has named its vice president technical Ulf Axelsson as its new president, in a move to separate its operations from Norwegian parent Braathens which is being taken over by SAS. Douglas Carty is to join Atlas Air as senior vice president and chief financial officer. He was previously with Canadian Airlines.
