Boeing has appointed Toby Bright vice president of business strategy and marketing for Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Heiner Wilkens takes over in Bright's previous position as vice president of sales for Europe and Russia. Lufthansa has promoted Stephan Gemkow to senior vice president of corporate finance. He will assume responsibility for the group's treasury, liquidity and financial planning. Northrop Grumman has named Rodney Casey as director of the US West Coast customer service and business development, based in San Diego, California. Prior to this, Casey worked for Haulsey Engineering. SAS has appointed SAS Flight Academy chief Lars Myland as senior vice president of Scandinavian flight operations. The appointment follows a managerial reshuffle and the company's decision to restructure its business into five divisions. Atlas Air has promoted Fred deLeeuw to senior vice president of strategic planning. DeLeeuw was previously vice president of corporate finance. Malév Hungarian Airlines has named current chief commercial officer Jozsef Varadi as its new chief executive. Ansett Australia has named Douglas Hendry as commercial manager of its regional airline activities. The US Federal Aviation Administration has named Chris Bertram as assistant administrator for financial services and chief financial officer. Captain Doug Akhurst is to join Loganair as director of flight operations. He was previously chief flight operations inspector and head of the flight operations department at the UK Civil Aviation Authority. Gulfstream Aerospace has announced several appointments, including James Gallagher as service programme manager for all GIV aircraft; James McQueeney as vice president and general manager of Gulfstream's Oklahoma City and Mexicali, Mexico, facilities; Dan O'Malley as general manager of its Mexicali, Mexico, site; and Brooks Clark as director of facilities for Gulfstream in Savannah.
