Textron has appointed former Cessna chairman Russ Meyer as president of its aircraft segment, which includes Cessna, Bell Helicopter and engine manufacturer Textron Lycoming. Pier Giorgio Romiti has become the new chief executive of Rome airport operator ADR. He replaces Paolo Pappalardo. Romiti is the son of Cesare Romiti, who controls 51% of ADR through the Gemina and Impregilo investment vehicles. United Airlines has reorganised its top management. Bill Hobgood will step down as senior vice-president people but will continue as senior labour advisor to the chairman. He will be succeeded by Sara Fields, currently senior vice-president onboard service. Fields will be replaced by Larry De Shon, currently senior vice-president marketing. Senior vice-president North America Chris Bowers will succeed De Shon as senior vice-president marketing, sales and reservations. President Rono Dutta will lead a new strategic initiatives group, while executive vice-president and chief operating officer Andy Studdert will be in charge of all of United's air and ground operations. Senior vice-president Pete McDonald will head the airport operations division.
