• Gil Michielin, vice-president and general manager of Thales's commercial airline solutions business unit, has been elected president of the European Organisation for Civil Aviation Equipment.
  • BAE Systems has appointed Andy Inglis as a non-executive director.
  • India's government has named Air India chief V Thulasidas chairman and managing director of the enlarged carrier after its merger with Indian Airlines. His counterpart at Indian Airlines Vishwapati Trivedi will be joint managing director of the merged company.
  • MTU's maintenance division MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg has named Andre Sinanian vice-president of its General Electric CF34 programme.
  • The Aerospace Industries Association will seek a new president and chief executive following John Douglass's decision to retire at the end of the year.
  • The European Defence Agency has appointed Alexander Weis as its new chief executive. He will take over the role on 1 October from Nick Witney. EDA will also have two new deputy chief executives from January. Carlo Magrassi and Adam Sowa will succeed current sole deputy chief executive Hilmar Linnenkamp.
