Northrop Grumman has named David Barakat vice-president of programmes and technology. Former Honeywell executive John Uczekaj has resigned as president and chief operating officer of Nordam after the US-based maintenance and manufacturing group extended the term of chairman and chief executive Ken Lackey through 2008. Uczekaj joined Nordam in 2004 in a move by the family-owned company to bring in professional aerospace management skills as part of a strategy to more than double annual revenues to $1 billion. Uczekaj was expected to become chief executive, but "has left the company to pursue other career opportunities" as a result of the decision to extend Lackey's tenure, says Nordam. Chief financial officer Bill Peacher will assume the additional responsibilities of chief operating officer for Nordam Repair Group while Lackey will assume COO responsibilities for the company's manufacturing divisions. Safran has appointed Jean-Paul Herteman executive vice-president defence security branch, replacing Jacques Paccard. Marc Ventre replaces him as executive vice-president propulsion branch.
