Virgin Atlantic Cargo, the air cargo division of Virgin Atlantic Airways, has promoted John Lloyd to the new post of director cargo. He was previously general manager (GM). Pat Hurley has been appointed president and chief executive of BAE Automated Systems. Hurley was previously vice-president (VP) and GM of AlliedSignal's inertial and sensor systems enterprise. Indigo, provider of the world's first public corporate jet service, has named James Clarke senior VP finance and chief financial officer (CFO). He was previously director of structured finance for Merrill Lynch. Allen Ashby has been appointed VP and GM of Boeing's Electronic Systems & Missile Defence unit, replacing Robert Paster, who is retiring. Randy Simmons is the new VP and GM of business management and CFO for military aircraft and missile systems, succeeding Roger Krone, who has accepted the position of VP and GM of Boeing Army programmes. Gen John Shalikashvili joins the board. Fairchild Aerospace has appointed Kent Hollinger VP technical support. He was previously VP quality assurance and engineering for America West Airlines. Aerospan.com, an aerospace e-marketplace, has named Hal Chrisman senior VP marketing and business development. John Lee has been appointed senior VP and CFO at Precision Standard. He was previously VP finance and administration at Teledyne Brown Engineering. Northrop Grumman's Integrated Systems and Aerostructures sector has named John Young VP and integrated product team leader for airborne early warning and electronic warfare systems. Jim Tapp becomes VP marketing and Tom Vice is VP business development, air combat systems. Joseph Costello is promoted to VP and deputy general counsel. Fred van der Meer is Schiphol Airport's new director, succeeding Hans Bakker, the new commercial director of Hong Kong's Chek Lap Kok Airport.
