Malev chief executive (CEO) Ferenc Kovacs is to leave the Hungarian carrier by "mutual consent" after just a year in the job. His departure came a week after Hungary's Privatisation and State Holding Company said it had identified 20 potential foreign bidders for the airline. David Hermesh has been named as the new president of Israeli flag-carrier El Al, pending government approval. The carrier's board has approved Hermesh's nomination, which must now be approved by the minister of transport. Hermesh, 54, is currently a senior manager with Israel's Discount Bank, and was previously president of Amidar, a major housing company. He will assume his new position in early November. Edward Orzetti, former general manager supply chain management for GE Supply at General Electric, joins Textron as VP enterprise-wide initiatives. Frontier Airlines has appointed Todd McLaughlin director, training and standards, responsible for leading Frontier's pilot training and system safety procedures. He was previously a captain and check airman for the airline. L-3 Communications has named Bruce Coffey president of its Florida-based Aviation Recorders division, succeeding Charles Grouse who is retiring. Aviation Recorders supplies cockpit voice recorders and flight data recorders for civil and military applications. Paul Cervino has been named president of US aerospace precision assemblies specialist Allied Devices, succeeding Mark Hopkinson, who remains chairman and CEO. John Williams, previously president and CEO for Biztravel.com, has taken the same job with business jet service provider eBizJets. Litton Industries has named Sandra Wright corporate VP and controller, replacing Carol Wiesner.
