Leo Mullin, Delta Air Lines' chairman and chief executive, is to retire. Gerald Grinstein will take over as chief executive on 1 January and John Smith will succeed Mullin as non-executive chairman on 23 April at the annual shareholders' meeting. Steven Dwyer will take over from Richard Lewis as chief operating officer of Rolls-Royce's Indianapolis manufacturing site. Dwyer was formerly president of Rolls-Royce Defense North America. William Meaney, managing director commerce of Swiss International Air Lines, has resigned. Chief executive André Dosé will take over his post until a replacement can be found. François Courtot has been named senior vice-president, international development at Snecma. He replaces Philippe Humbert, who becomes adviser to the French foreign affairs ministry's forecasting and analysis desk. Courtot, a former fighter pilot, has been vice-president aeroengines at Snecma subsidiary Turbomeca since 1997. General Dynamics has appointed Mark Fried president of its C4Systems unit. Fried was formerly president of GD Decision Systems until its merger with C4 Systems earlier this month. He replaces Gerard DeMuro, who has been promoted to executive vice-president of GD Information Systems and Technology.
