UK engine manufacturer Rolls-Royce's chairman Euan Baird has resigned following a stroke in December. Baird, formerly chairman and chief executive of Schlumberger, succeeded Sir Ralph Robins as chairman of R-R in February 2003. Deputy chairman Lord John Moore, acting chairman since last December, will continue to fill the post on an interim basis.
Robert Brown has been appointed president and chief executive of Canadian simulation specialist CAE, effective from 12 August. Brown, who is chairman of Air Canada and was previously president and chief executive of Bombardier, succeeds Derek Burney.
