A retired Aramco petroleum industry veteran has launched a campaign for a new aviation fuel standard in the Middle East.
Ubaidallah S Alghamdi, president of the Arabian Fuels Technology Centre, is urging oil companies, fuel distributors and airlines to adopt a proposed Arabian Jet A-1
Plus standard, so the region can match US and European standards.
The new technology centre has been developed as a division of Alghamdi's engineering and consulting firm, which specialises in transportation fuels technology and is based in Dhahran.
He will campaign for the new standard to be adopted industry and region-wide during his attendance at Dubai, which has been targeted as a regional headquarters to administer the standard.
