Materials supplier Pexa hopes to grow its business in France and move towards manufacturing after opening a distribution centre in southern France. The company now has four employees at a small site, but managing director Jim Rowbotham says it could move to a larger facility with the capacity for manufacturing in "a couple of years".

West Yorkshire, UK-based Pexa, which distributes and customises non-metallic materials including paints, opened a subsidiary in France to serve its biggest export market. Rowbotham considers the A380 to be its most important project.

The company, whose French site is close to Eurocopter's Marignane facility, hopes to "grow from a small supplier of Eurocopter to a bigger one".

Pexa was set up two years ago and hopes for a turnover of £2 million ($3.85 million) in the UK in this financial year.
