A new air-traffic-control (ATC) centre has been opened at the Philippines' main airport in Manila. The prime contractor for the project is Thomson-CSF Airsys, which has installed two RSM 970 monopulse secondary surveillance radars at sites on the neighbouring islands of Laoag and Mont Majic. The ATC centre forms phase one of the Modernisation of the Philippines Airways System.
