Italy’s Piaggio has emerged as the only aircraft manufacturer among the 10 contenders that have been admitted to the second round of bidding to acquire debt-laden Czech company Aero Vodochody. Other bidders are HTC Holding of Slovakia, owner of repair company Povazské Strojárne, which specialises in overhauling Aero types, and consortia lead by Czech company Omnipol and Fairchild of the USA.
