Taiwan’s China Airlines will introduce premium economy in the coming months.
The seats will feature up to 39in (99cm) of legroom in a fixed backshell and front-sliding design. Each seat will also have an individual 12in touchscreen inflight entertainment (IFE) powered by Panasonic Avionics’ eX3 system.
In response to queries made by Flightglobal, the carrier says it has selected Zodiac Aerospace as provider for the seats, which will only be available on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. The aircraft will also be configured with 358 seats across three classes: 40 business, 62 premium economy and 256 economy class.
China Airlines will receive three 777s this year, with the first to arrive in September. It will then take delivery of the remaining seven aircraft it has on order over the next two years, it adds.
