EgyptAir Express is poised to launch operations following the delivery of the first of six Embraer 170s the airline has on firm order.
Set up by flag-carrier EgyptAir to serve selected regional and domestic routes, EgyptAir Express will operate its E-170s in a 76-seat configuration.
EgyptAir said last year it was setting up the Express division to enable it to offer more frequencies on domestic and regional routes by using smaller aircraft.
Embraer and EgyptAir are meanwhile considering establishing an authorised service centre for E-Jets in the region, to be run by EgyptAir Maintenance & Engineering, according to the Brazilian manufacturer.
