UK budget carrier Flyglobespan has taken delivery of its first widebody, a Boeing 767-300ER, which it will deploy on services between Glasgow and Orlando Sanford.

The aircraft, which was delivered from Auckland to Glasgow, via Orlando Sanford, arrived with Flyglobespan on 9 March.

Flyglobespan says there will be “intensive” preparations, ahead of the widebody’s entry into service on 2 June.

It will initially be deployed on daily services between Glasgow and Orlando Sanford, but will later be used to operate thrice-weekly Manchester-Cape Town services slated for launch on 8 November.

Flyglobespan hopes to maintain the Sanford service “in some form” during the winter months, it says, addingthat it will “certainly not” continue at a daily frequency.
