Indian airline Jet Airways has revealed a new “private suite” for first-class passengers on its long-haul aircraft as part of what it calls an "aggressive" $3.7 billion campaign to become one of the world’s top five global carriers.
The airline, owned by entrepreneur Naresh Goyal, has ordered 20 new Boeing 777-300ERs and is set to take to the skies in the first in early May on the London-Mumbai route.
“The new cabins launched today represent an exciting leap forwards in our expansion plans”, says Goyal. Each 777 will feature eight “suites” offering passengers “the ultimate in luxury travel”. Dual sliding doors enclose 2.4m² of space which includes “the world’s longest fully flat bed”, a 23in. TV screen, personal wardrobe and facilities providing for dining “a deux”, says the airline.
Business class passengers travelling in the Première class cabin will benefit from an “innovative new seat”, with in-built massage system, a 15.4in TV screen and a powerpoint for laptops.
