Netherlands carrier KLM has taken delivery of its first Boeing 777-300ER, the first of three new types to join the SkyTeam carrier’s fleet this year.

The carrier has just taken delivery of its first of the type at a ceremony in Seattle. The aircraft will seat 425 passengers in two-classes – a configuration in line with the aircraft operated by fellow group carrier Air France.

KLM has six of the type on order; a second will also be delivered shortly. It already operates 15 Boeing 777-200ERs.

The Dutch carrier will later this year introduce its first Boeing 737-700 and Embraer 190 aircraft.
