Northwest Airlines pilots have agreed to consider the concessions that management has sought for a year. Although they will not agree on a negotiating plan until April, the union insists it will make an "investment" rather than concessions and that the deal says that this will be used "properly". They will aim at cutting the airline's pilot labour costs by $200 million a year through 2006, although Northwest has sought savings of about $440 million a year.
