Four people, travelling from Isle of Wight towards France, were killed 5 August when their Piper Cherokee crashed into a cornfield and burst into flames.
The four-seater Piper Cherokee aircraft crashed and killed the pilot and three passengers after it had just had taken off from Isle of Wight Airport.
Reports say that the aircraft nosedived and exploded about half a mile from the runway.
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch, part of the UK government's Department for Transport, confirmed that a team of inspectors had been sent to examine the scene for clues.
