As Piper prepares to produce its single-engine PiperJet and further piston craft production, the 70-year-old company is searching for the best location for manufacturing.
Vero Beach City, Florida has hosted Piper facilities for 50 years, and on 9 May the city council and the Indian River County Commissioners voted to develop several financial incentives to keep Piper there.
"Over the next several weeks we are looking forward to seeing the full scope of the local proposal and will begin the process of comparing the cost of doing business in Vero Beach against the data from competing cities and states," says human resources director Steve Johnston.
