UK business aircraft charter operator Club328 has been snapped up by online aircraft charter broker PlaneChartering in a move designed to strengthen and expand the portfolio of the Biggin Hill, UK-based firm. PlaneChartering, which also has a base in Cannes in France, operates a fleet of two Cessna Citation IIs and one Beechcraft King Air E90 that will be merged with Club328's Dornier 328Jet, two Beechcraft Premier Is and a Hawker 800. PlaneChartering is also acquiring maintenance provider and Club328's sister company Avtech. Club328 will be relocated from Southampton to Biggin Hill. "The acquisition of Club328 gives us much needed investment to allow the company to expand," says Club328's Elaine Young. She adds that once all the acquisitions are complete, the PlaneChartering will launch an initial public offering early next year, which should boost company finances further and allow it to invest in new aircraft and services.
