The UK Metropolitan Police Authority is acquiring three Eurocopter EC145 medium twin helicopters for airborne law-enforcement operations. The first two machines are scheduled to enter service later this year and the third in 2007. The EC145s will join the force’s fleet of three AS355 Twin Squirrels and will be equipped with digital, gyro-stabilised and thermal imaging cameras, as well as search lights and a public address system.
