A deployment of some of the Polish air force's Lockheed Martin F-16s to Israeli bases as part of the forthcoming "Blue Flag" exercise will allow the service to evaluate some Israeli-made systems that are on its shopping list.
Several F-16s from the 31st Tactical Air Base in Krzesiny will soon be flown to Israel to participate in the Blue Flag exercise, along with the host nation and a number of other air forces.
The exercise will allow Polish pilots and technical experts to evaluate Israeli-developed systems being used by its air force, sources indicate.
Warsaw is in the process of expanding its military capabilities, and in recent months has allocated funding to acquire new equipment including unmanned air vehicles and various payloads.
Over the last few years the Israeli air force has increased its international cooperation, which included conducting joint exercises with its Greek and Romanian counterparts. In 2012 the Polish air force also participated in a similar exercise in Israel (picture below).
