UK business aircraft management and charter broker Pool Aviation is gearing up to take delivery of its third Embraer Phenom 100 very light jet at the end of the month.

The Isle of Man-registered aircraft will join the other two privately owned Phenoms that are operated under management by the Blackpool-based company.

Pool Aviation has a further four orders for the twin-engined types. It plans to sell the delivery positions to businesses in northern England, for which it can also provide, crew, maintenance and operational support.

"We have always been interested in the very light jet concept and at one time were looking at the air- taxi concept," says Pool Aviation managing director Simon Menzies.

"However we realised that this business model was too speculative, and required heavy investment. This model on the other hand is sensible and sustainable."

Pool has sold three of the seven aircraft to date and has a light-cabin Beechcraft Premier II and a midsize Legacy 500 on order with delivery scheduled for 2012.

Menzies is confident it can find owners within its target region for all these aircraft.
