The Bell AH-1W SuperCobra is powered by two 1,210kW(1,625shp) General Electric T700-401 turbo-shafts. The transmission limit is 1,520kW and single-engine power available 1,280kW. The aircraft has a maximum gross weight of 6,690kg with a maximum weapon load of 753kg, but Bell offers foreign customers a 7,030kg gross weight for ferry missions.
The aircraft as flown had an empty weight of 4,820kg and was equipped with the Taman/Kollsman night-targeting system (NTS) now being fitted to USMC AH-1Ws. The NTS upgrade adds television and infrared sensors and automatic target tracking to the nose-mounted M65 sight and installs a multi-function display to the front cockpit, necessitating a revised canopy.
