Michel Déchelotte has been named chairman and chief executive of PowerJet. The Paris-based company, a joint venture between Snecma Moteurs of France and NPO Saturn of Russia, heads up the SaM146 jet engine programme, which is designed for 60-100-seat regional airliners. The engine has been selected by Russian aircraft manufacturer Sukhoi for the new Russian Regional Jet family. D‚chelotte was formerly development director in Russia for Snecma Moteurs.
